Thanks Tim. I've been subscribed to Site Pro News for a few years now and really like their articles but I never seem to find the time to go back and read them very often. I'm going to make more of an effort to do so now though since I'm getting more into html and working on my own site, and have already read this one at the link you gave.
I went and checked my Site Pro News email folder afterward and sure enough, this article was there. I have an inbox rule that automatically files their newsletters into their own folder but rarely dig into my subfolders to see what's there :-\ Thanks again.

Hi Tim,
an excellent article which now makes me question everything I know about good web design!
It's actually something that has always been preached in web design for a long time, they say "Content Is King". There are many principles to web design in the same way that there are certain ways to write good letters or lay out an article. Rarely do they teach how to make a site look good when you learn web design, it's more about how to make a site effective.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that the article highlights the fact that as long as you have the right stuff on the site, make it easy to find what you want to find and easy to navigate, it matters very little how it looks. However, saying that I think it is important to make good use of colors and images from a marketing point of view. People do respond to these elements on a site and it does make a difference.
Excellent stuff Tim, thanks for sharing
