I am always trying to find ways to get my site to load faster. In doing so I look at the log files for errors. I happen to notice favicon.ico for the longest time and good not find it in my code. I thought it might be helpful to post the findings here.
Favicon.ico is windows looking for the little icon that shows up in your bookmarks or in your url. If you don't have it it shows as not found. You can create one very easily at 32x32 or 64x64 should you decide to do so. I used a program called Gimp that Top told me about. I hope this helps.

Thanks Mike. Having a favicon.ico file is completely optional, but having one allows a custom icon of your choosing to be displayed beside your URL in someone's Favorites list when they bookmark your page, and also beside your URL in the Address bar when your site is displayed. It can most easily be placed in your root folder (public_html for iPower users) as the visitor's browser will automatically look there for it. Here are a couple of sites I had bookmarked in regards to favicon.ico files: www.see-search.com/webdesign/FavoritesIcon.htmwww.favicon.com/Troy
