Hi there,
I wonder of someone can tell me how to make a site map and submit it to Google?
I`ve read some directions from Google, but they were a bit unclear to me.
I`ll appreciate your help.
Best regards,
Per :-)

Best regards, Per :-) Hi Per, Having tried both the free and paid version, I can recommend: www.xml-sitemaps.com/With the free version (this will work for sites up to 500 pages) you put in your site url in the box under "starting url", leave all the settings as they are and just click the big "start" button. It will build you a site map which you then upload to your website, giving it the name sitemap.xml All you need to do after that is log in to your Google Webmaster Tools account and add your website (if you haven't already done that). Then, at the "dashboard" click on the website name under "manage". That will take you to a page headed "overview". Click on "sitemaps" and then "add sitemap" From the dropdown box select "General Web Sitemap" Finally, verify your site and wait for Google to visit.

Hi Elaine,
Thanks a lot. This was so easy with the proper software even I could do it,
I`m sure this is of great value to many Topsonliners! :-)
First I had just made up a text site map, and it was OK by Google. So now I have two site maps. Should I just delete the sitemap.txt? or can I have both?
Thanks again. I struggled so with this matter!
I wish you and yours a Happy and Prosperous New Year!
Best regards,
Per Hogseth :-)

Best regards, Per Hogseth :-) Hi Per, Glad that helped - like most things, it's easy once you know how! I don't know of any reason to delete your ordinary text site map (after all, it is another page to add weight to your site). I have a text site map for human visitors as well as the automatically generated one for Google. It means a little extra work to keep it updated, but I like having a site map where I can choose the order of display and use a jump menu for navigation. Happy New Year ;D
