Hello
How many keywords should a website have? I have read to many is not good ,but they had a number like 700. My site has 11 keywords. Should I add more? I think I should, because i believe the more keywords , the better chance of getting hits/visits. Am on the the right track?

Sheba, The person who helped me with my SEO told me that the search engines only look at 10 words and that Google and Yahoo don't even look at the meta keywords tag. Google and Yahoo are more interested in what is on your page. Take your keywords and make sure you put them within the text of your page, in bold if possible. Google and Yahoo will find them. This has worked for me Cindi

Hi My advisors say to optimize for 2 to 3 keywords. Use them in title description, your headline and use header tags with your main keywords. Integrate those keywords in your content and internal page linking and try to shoot for around 7% keyword density. Cindi is right about the keyword meta tags. Most search engines ignore them. It's the title and header tags they look at most as well as natural use of keywords throughout your page content. Good luck! It's a never ending job to keep up with. Michael J
