I know there was a thread on this that Elaine started but I can't find it.
How do I remove the style sheet from the TOPS page? I know that I cut and paste into notepad and upload it, but I am not sure where to start and end the cut and paste.
Also I need the code that tells the robots where the style sheet is, and where do I put it in the header section.
Thanks! Cindi

Cindy,
You will need to remove all of the code between:
<style type="text/css"> <!--
and
--> </style>
Copy all of that code to a file and name it something like style.css. This will be your external style sheet.
The external style sheet does not need the
<style type="text/css"> <!--
and
--> </style>
so you can go ahead and remove that code from the new file.
In your index file, insert the following code anywhere in the head section... you can enter it at the same place the internal css code was:
<link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css">
This is assuming that you place style.css in the same directory as the index file.
If you don't want the robots to see your stylesheet, make a new directory called something like css and put style.css into it. In this case the code you place in your index file would be:
<link rel="stylesheet" href="css/style.css">
Then in your robots.txt file enter the code:
User-agent: * Disallow: /css/
Regards,
Tom
