hi there, I have had some outside work done on my website and the changes were made direct to my index.html file in ipower, now I am trying to transfer this updated version to my c:drive where I am using Dreamweaver for web developing. I think it has to be thru FTP ( and I am still on the old platform in iPower) but just can't seem to work it out. I also thought there was an easier way in dreamweaver where I could just get the index.html file straight from iPower and it would just drop straight into Dreamweaver where I could then continue developing my site, can't work this out either. Can anyone help. please........... chrisse

In my opinion it is best to use a program like SmartFTP, FileZilla, FTP Commander, Cute FTP, WS_FTP, etc to transfer files back and forth from your domain to your computer. I personally use SmartFTP and think it is one of the better solutions available.
Even though Dreamweaver and NVU have built in publish features, I prefer not to use those and would rather just transfer the files directly.
FileZilla is a free program to use and SmartFTP has a free trial.
All you basically need to do is to establish a connection to your domain using one of these programs and then transfer your index file from the public_html directory on your domain to a dedicated directory on your computer. To get your page to look correct in Dreamweaver (or any other visual HTML editor) you may also need to transfer your images to your computer as well.
