I am looking at drop down menu options for a new website I am building and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for one that will work in NVU as is relatively easy to use.
I have looked at a couple of sites, but most seem to be compatible with only dreamweaver. If I am going to go that route where can I find a free download for dreamweaver? I haven't been able to find a free one yet.
Thanks Nancy

Hi Nancy, Any type of drop down menu for a web site would just be a matter of utilizing the right code for the effect you are going for. As a result, any menu system should work with virtually any decent HTML editor including NVU. If NVU doesn't have an appropriate menu creation function in one of its menus and you don't have the programming ability to write the desired menu from scratch in the source code window (most of us don't), then you can find some example menu code and copy it, then paste it into your source code and modify it accordingly. You won't likely find a free download of Dreamweaver, at least not a legal one. Dreamweaver is a very expensive, professional HTML editor application used by many professionals in the web design field. Jim and a few others here have and use it. I don't have any experience with it myself as of yet, but I hear it's a really good program (as it should be, considering its high price tag). It's put out by Adobe. Their Dreamweaver page is here, along with a US $399 price tag as of this writing: www.adobe.com/products/dreamweaver/I'm not sure what exactly the menu style is that you want...if you want a jump menu like the one at the bottom-right corner of each forum page where you make a selection out of a drop-down box, then Jim had once posted some code that would do this. I had saved the post for reference, it can be found here: erichw33.proboards53.com/index.cgi?board=p1&action=display&thread=1146573172&page=1#1146608863Here are some other tutorials I found regarding menu creation from a Google search: www.htmlgoodies.com/beyond/dhtml/article.php/3470571www.aspandjavascript.co.uk/javascript/drop_down_menu_tutorial_version_2/www.htmlcodetutorial.com/linking/linking_famsupp_114.htmlwww.tanfa.co.uk/css/examples/menu/tutorial-h.aspwww.tanfa.co.uk/css/examples/menu/tutorials.alsacreations.com/deroulant/Some of these sites give example menu systems that you can copy and paste into your site's source code and modify according to your own needs. Hope this helps. Troy

Thanks Troy,
I had read a couple of those you gave me, and will read the others. I have no intention of purchasing Dreamweaver for one website. Now if I was producing websites to make money, I might consider it.
I found a couple of sites that have free downloads to make the kind of drop down I want, so I will play around with them and see what I come up with.
Thanks for your help, as always. Nancy ;D
