Thanks Jeff. Just from the looks of it I think you're right in that it might convert better. Definately looks better.

This is weird, it looks the same to me. I don't see the difference.
Maybe I am looking at the wrong page. I am looking at my affiliate link.

Gosh, all the links are the same. Come to think of it, someone mentioned in an earlier post that when this happens you have to clear the cookies (??is that right??) in order for the new page to show up. Whatever is happening, I'm still landing on the old page Dot

Dot,
You are right. In order to see the new page go to settings, control panel then internet options and on the general tab delete cookies. I was getting the old page but when I deleted cookies I got the new one.

MSN adcenter had me clear cookies yesterday as part of the sign-up process when one step didn't work. I still get the old page from my affiliate link so I don't think that is the problem. And yes, it is a royal p.i.t.b. to have to re-sign into everywhere!

If you think you're seeing an old version of a web page and you want to make sure you have the current page, you can first try clicking the browser's Refresh or Reload button, but if that doesn't work, you can clear your browser's cache rather than the cookies. The cache is a folder that temporarily stores web pages as you download and view them, and depending on how your browser is configured it may not check for a newer version of the page automatically the next time you view it, it may show you your cached copy instead. Cookies are little files placed on your local computer by the web server, and they typically store your selections/preferences, login info, or other such bits of data about a specific page or site you've visited in the past, that's why many sites seem to "remember" you from previous visits. They don't generally determine whether you see an older version of a page or the web server's current copy however, unless of course the page is somehow written to store in a cookie that it is to display a particular version of a page to you each time you visit. The procedure varies a bit depending on which browser you use, but to clear your browser's cache in Internet Explorer 6, go to the Tools menu, then choose Internet Options, then on the General tab click on the Delete Files... button in the middle of the window in the Temporary Internet Files section. If you want to be sure it clears everything you can also check the "Delete all offline content" checkbox on the resulting screen. Then click OK to clear the cache. It's possible that SurveyScout just updated their home page and not the page displayed with our affiliate links, but in any case the above procedure should work if you suspect your computer is showing you an old, outdated copy of a page. One other thing to note is that some ISPs (such as AOL I think) have a proxy server, which stores web pages in a manner similar to your browser's cache. What this does is cut down on network traffic. For instance, if several people on your ISP request the same page, the proxy server just has to retrieve it once from the web server and then it can provide the page to each surfer itself without having to use more bandwidth to retrieve the page from the originating server every time. Of course, pages time out after a while and the proxy server would periodically have to get a new copy, otherwise you'd see an old version of a page indefinitely. Hope someone finds my ramblings useful Troy

MSN adcenter had me clear both, but even if they hadn't, my computer is set to automatically look for the most recent version of a page.
I just checked and now get the new page from my affiliate link, so Survey Scout must have updated things. Apparently we caught them in the process!

Here's a easy way to view the newest version of a page.
Just hold down the ctrl (control) key on your keyboard while you click the refresh/reload button on your browser. This clears the cache for that page.
I use it a lot when I'm working on my site and want to make sure I'm seeing the latest page I've uploaded.

Does the new page look much like the old one with light green tones? I tried the control key trick, but it doesn't look any different. Maybe I just don't remember the old one.

I still can’t see the new surveyscout page… Can anybody tell us if surveyscout still offers the $25 instant survey bonus? I went to paidsurveysonline (surveys2) and at the bottom, highlighted in yellow it says… Plus join today and receive an instant $25 survey! Plus a surprise bonus! Since, I don’t know if I’m seeing an old or new pages….is that true for paidsurveysonline? I would like to update my website and any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks, Lori

Their $25 Instant Survey Banners are still up and working. I know how much trouble one can get into by assuming things, but that indicates to me that they still have the offer on the table . . . . .

Lori,
It look like Survey Scout is deciding who get what page. If I use a B*****S id I get the new page, but if I use either one of mine Click Bank id I get the old Page, I guess only Survey Scount can answer the question 100%. If seem like they still testing the two page. The old page was working for them for a long time, so they may be slow in change. They may be just testing.

The new survey scout page does not offer the $25 survey, but it does have testimonials on there which should help increase conversions. Paidonlinesurveys does offer an instant $25 survey but it isn't located particualrily well for people to see it. It's closer to the order button at the bottom. Gary I’m glad to hear it looks nice. It still may still depend on which page is delivered the person when they signup. Survey Scount control which page the user see.

Yes, SurveyScout could be doing a split test of two different web pages to see which one converts better, that's very possible. On the other hand, it's also possible that some people may still be seeing the old page for certain affiliate IDs/links because their ISP may have a proxy server sitting between them and the rest of the Internet that caches the old page and sends them that. It's like a second level of caching that you don't have any control over.
The CTRL key & Refresh option may clear your own local computer's cache and download the page again, but if a proxy server with its own cache sends you an older version of the page then you might not know it or have any control over it. If it's a page that is not updated very often then it may take a longer time before the proxy would time out the cached page and then finally retrieve the latest copy from the originating web server.
This could very well be a split test of some sort on SurveyScout's part, but the above scenario is just another possibility to consider. If that were the case, we would all see the new page eventually, some sooner than others, but if the version of the page you're seeing is indeed controlled by SurveyScout then I guess we're at their mercy for the time being and it's ultimately up to them.

Here is the reply I received from Survey Scout about the new sales page.
------------------------------------- We are currently testing alternative sales copy, on a very limited basis, to see how it compares to the existing site in terms of conversion and refunds. It is only being shown to visitors that are not referred by affiliates. It is just part of ongoing testing that we do to keep the site the best it can be for our affiliates. The copy we are testing at the moment (we have more to test later) does not have the $25 instant survey. These are only tests. Permanent changes would not be made unless the testing results show that it is best for our affiliates. If that were the case, we would email everyone and let them know about the change.
Here is some detail about the survey itself. It is available to new members upon joining and accessing the members area. The questions in the survey also serve as a Survey Scout tutorial. The reward is a $25 voucher good at over 5000 restaurants nationwide. -------------------------------------

Thanks Mark.
I was worried about promoting the wrong thing.
That new sales page looked good to me but I hope they will keep the $25 reward.
