I believe someone asked about this recently, but I cannot locate the post: They asked about sending follow-up to customers who buy from our clickbank links. I believe that most of the post suggested not contacting the customer, for a variety of reasons. I just read an article from a fairly successful Clickbank author and also affiliate of a variety of clickbank products. He stated:
Backend sales - adding 30% to your affiliate income
Whenever someone purchases a product from you as an affiliate on clickbank you receive a sale in your clickbank account along with an email address for the person who ordered the product.
Most affiliates do not follow up on these names, but I (he) generally do - and send them an email thanking them and providing them with a bonus. Typically, adding a buyer to a follow-up email series can add 20-40 % to the revenue I receive from my sales. [end of his quote]The bonus is tied to a "squeeze page" and the bonus of course is on the thanks-you or follow-up page for signing up for the E-news or "whatever series" Gotta go now and set up that bonus and squeeze pages...

Added Note: The Bonus should add value to the products that have been purchased, this might be an overview that helps the person profit from the information purchased, additional ideas or suggestions that make the initial product easier to use, by offering some additional training, etc.

Michael - this is great advice. I have never contacted the people that purchase CB products from my links and you are correct those are valuable leads given the fact that they have already shown an ability to purchase online and not just look from the sidelines.
I will put this on my list of to dos - hopefully I can get to this by the end of the year.
