Everybody know the scene in the movie "the Truman Show" where the rain follows him? Well, that's what my life is like right now.
I started down this online road because I have health problems that make it hard for me to consistently be at a regular job. But the past few weeks have been awful. My bank account got hacked into, and we're still trying to figure out how much is missing, my son spent a night in the hospital with a bad stomach bug, (yes, I am grateful it wasn't appendicitis like they thought!) And of course, I caught the bug too. So, I was finally feeling up to taking my dog to the park, and he took off after something, and pulled me off my feet, dislocating my elbow.
Like Mother Theresa, I know God wouldn't give me anything I couldn't handle, but I wish He didn't have so much faith in me!
I know I have a lot to be grateful for: it was my left arm and not my right that got injured, nothing was broken, my son is better, I have Erich and the others here as mentors, I have a VERY understanding boss, and I still have a little of an inheritance that will hopfully last until my website takes off... But I will be glad for any prayers I can get...
Thanks!

Oh my goodness, Lynn.....
I am so sorry about all the trouble you're having right now!!! Hang in there!! It's rare to have a little black cloud in "sunny San Diego"! It's got to be a very temporary thing!

A friend of mine in youth ministry use to say "This too shall pass".
Do not know if Presillo Park in still open in San Diego, but back in 1969 it was a great get-away from the time of stress as a young Marine stationed there. Of course the Lord was on that hill side as a comforter also.

Hello Lynn,
I have a poem hanging next to me, by my computer, that helps me over the "bumps" in life. Maybe it will help you, and others.
IT’S IN THE VALLEY THAT I GROW Sometimes life seems hard to bear, Full of sorrow, trouble and woe. It’s then I have to remember, That it’s in the valley that I grow.
If I always stayed on the mountain-top, And never experienced pain, I would never appreciate God’s love, And, would be living in vain.
I have so much to learn, And my growth is very slow, Sometimes I need the mountaintops But it’s in the valley that I grow.
I do not always understand, Why things happen as they do, But I am very sure of one thing. My God will see me through.
My little valleys are nothing, When I picture Christ upon the cross. He went through the valley of death. His victory was satan’s loss.
Forgive me Lord for complaining, When I’m feeling so very low. Just give me a gentle reminder, That it’s in the valley that I grow.
Continue to strengthen me, Lord, And use my life each day To share Your love with others, And help them find their way.
Thank you for valleys, Lord For this one thing I know, The mountaintops are glorious, BUT, IT’S IN THE VALLEY THAT I GROW.
I hope this finds some way to comfort you Lynn.

Wow, what a thread!
Lynn, of course you have my prayers. Remember that you walk THROUGH the valley - you don't stay there! A couple of people from church had that same stomach bug and one spent the night in the hospital, too. Bad stuff!
Think: Jer. 29:11
Shawna, It actually rained here last week! It was cold (for here) and blustery and I dug out my sweatshirt to wear to my daughter's softball games! Of course it has been totally beautiful since, and it will be 80 degrees tomorrow, so I guess the "rare little black cloud" image still fits. (In case you missed it earlier, Lynn and I discovered we just live a few miles apart in the same suburb of "sunny San Diego.")
Michael, you must have been in the Marines stationed here the same time period as my husband was. Small world.

Sandi Sandi; I was Stationed at MCRD both during boot camp Summer of 1969, then spent around another 7 months there training in Electronics and Communication, until May of 1970. That was followed by a year at Camp Pendleton with Marine Expeditionary Forces. My last Year + was in Albany Ga, there I worked in Battalion Headquarters in administration.

Lori--
What a cool poem!
One of my friends takes great pleasure in reminding me tat _all_ experiences make us what we are, and since I like myself, I should be grateful for the not-fun as well as the fun...
Thanks fo all the kind words and prayers..
Lynn
