I recd the following via email and believe it is worth passing along here at our Forum

Don't accept the new dollar!!!

Please help do this... refuse to accept these when they are handed back to you. I received one from the Post Office as change and I asked for a dollar bill instead..the lady just smiled and said way to go,so she had read this e-mail...please help out.

DO NOT ACCEPT THE NEW DOLLAR COINS AS CHANGE

OK, someone help me out with my confusion

In God We Trust isn't gone. They put it on the edge of the coins. Will it wear off over time?

Most likely. I think I read somewhere that they took so much flak for removing the wording from the face of the coin that it will be put back on the face in future years / designs.

I personally have not seen the coin and took the email at face value because it came from someone I trust... but she now confirms what you are saying... Let's hope they put the message back where it belongs... Front and Center...

I have seen the coins. If you did not know there was something written around the edge, you would never have a clue. You would think it was just ridges like dimes have. I agree it belongs prominently on the face of the coin.
