I have ran my site through webposition gold, Arelis and WebCEO and all three tell me my keywords are not in bold when they are. Is it something to do with NVU? I am working very hard to get my site optimized and this is one area I cannot fix. Thanks, Cindi

Hi Cindi,
This is probably not an issue with NVU itself, but with the way your page is coded by it. Or more accurately, with the programs you're using to check your page and the extent of their ability to read your code.
I can't say for certain why you are experiencing this issue, but if I were to hazard a guess, I would say that the programs you are using to optimize your page for the search engines may be looking for the older, legacy <b> and </b> bold tags, while your page is coded using newer CSS style code either via inline CSS (attributes like style="font-weight: bold;" right inside the tags around the text in question), via an internal CSS stylesheet in the <head> section of your page and the accompanying class attributes inside your tags, or via an external CSS stylesheet file.
Your page doesn't seem to use an external CSS stylesheet, so it appears just the inline styles and internal stylesheet code are being used to set bold, color, underline, font size and type, etc.
If this is the reason you are getting this message from the programs you mentioned, then the programs you are using may be a bit dated and may not be programmed to recognize newer HTML coding standards. However, I'm sure that search engines would, so I would not think that this would be a cause for concern.
As I said, this is just a guess on my part and there may be a completely different reason for it. Without knowing what keywords you are highlighting and being more familiar with the programs in question, it is difficult to say, but that is my best guess based on a quick glance at your code, a bit of knowledge about HTML, and very little first-hand knowledge about the programs in question. Hope this helps.

What you said makes perfect sense. It does show up bold in th search engines. I do use the css which doesn't use <b></b>. I won't worry about it right now. Thanks for your help Troy Cindi
