Hi everyone,
I'm using Nvu to design my Website, I have two rows and two columns but I want to change the height of my table which is 2050 px, I have tried going to table and then resizing the height by 100 % and stills looks the same, is way too long...How Do I change the height and what's the most common height for Websites?
Thank you,
Maita

Maita, Try just leaving the height blank. It worked for me.

I have tried doing that Debbie, but It doesn't work, initially the height of my table was 2050 px, so I don't know I'll have to find other ways to change it.
Thanks,
Maita

Hi Maita, I just took a quick look at your site and I didn't see any problem with it at a glance. Have you since resolved the issue, or is there a specific area of your site that is giving you trouble? I assume the page in question is the workdayeasy.com/ link in the home page icon of your forum profile. There is not really a standard height for our sites, everyone's site varies depending on the number of ads they have on it and so forth. Many sites do tend to be a bit on the long side however, due to the large number of offers we have presented. The best thing you can do to minimize the overall length of your page is to make the main columns as even in length as possible by moving ads from one column to another if needed to make them approximately the same length. It appears that the three main columns on your site are pretty even in length already. 100% is a good value to specify for your height in most cases, as this will allow your table's height to resize dynamically depending on its content. It appears that you have 100% specified for your maintable's height already. If you are still having a particular problem, please be more specific as to the problem area of your site and we'll take another look. Troy

Hi Troy!
No my website the one that I'm working on right now hasn't been published. The one you are looking at is my basic Tops website. I'm designing it in Nvu, but there's a lot to be done, I haven't put any ads yet just because I'm having troubles changing the height of my tables which are 2035!

;DHi Maida
Try going into Table Properties for your whole page and make sure your height is empty or make it read 100%. That worked for me. I just left it empty and never had a problem.
Without seeing your site and seeing what problem you are having it is difficult for us to tell you exactly how to fix it. We can only guess at this point. So I really hope this works for you.
Take Care Nancy

Hi Maita, As Nancy as mentioned, we can't really give much web site help here on the forum unless we can actually see the page in question and its code...anything else is just a guess. As I mentioned in my previous post and Nancy mentioned above, try manually setting your table or cell height to 100% rather than the pixel (px) value it is currently. You can do this either via a properties page in NVU or via the source code directly. I find NVU tends to make your tables and cells with pixel values by default, particularly if you drag the borders around, but percentages work better in some cases, especially for table heights. If this suggestion does not solve your problem, you would have to save and upload your web page to your hosting account so that we are able to view it online and diagnose the problem further. You can name your page anything you want, such as test.html, and upload it to your public_html folder. Following this example, the link to the page would then be workdayeasy.com/test.htmlYou can have any number of different pages on your site with different names, and doing this would leave your original TOPS index.html page intact while still having your current work-in-progress page available online for others to view.
