Ken, Do you have any hints for GIMP. I down loaded it months ago because Skyrocket Jim recommended it. I could not make heads nor tails out of it. I would love to be able to mess with my own images. Cindi

I figured out how to resize images. Open Gimp, then click on File ==>Open. Find the image you want to resize and double click on the link (not the preview.) when the image opens up, choose Image and then Scale Image. Click on either height or width and change it to what you want. Click on the other dimension and it will automatically change in proportion. You can change the resolution the same way. Save it with a new name. It may ask you to jump through a couple extra hoops if it is an animated image, but as one tech-savvy told me it situations like this, always say yes!

I was browsing in a book store this afternoon. I couldn't help but notice that even though GIMP is free, at least one instruction manual is $49.99!
I also thumbed through "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Creating a Web Page and Blog" and may go back and buy it. It explains things like html and css in terms that I can understand, and presumably other idiots will be able to, also!

Thanks Sandi, I have two books that have helped me out. Teach Yourself Visually HTML and Master Visually Creating Web Pages. Even a HTML dummy like myself figured out the process with these two books. I got them at Waldens at the mall. They were $25 a piece and well worth it!! Cindi
