Hi there,
Can anybody please tell me step by step how to upload my files to the new iPowerweb host.
I try but the files end up outside the directory or so it seems.
I try the help-desk, but they don`t seem to help me much. Not at all.
I guess this is just a piece of cake but I have come on the wrong track.
I have answered the security question. Shall I use the File manager as I did earlier?
I`d appreciate if someone can be of help.
Best regards,
Per

Hi Per,
I'm not sure how you were trying to upload files so it's difficult to advise what you were doing incorrectly, however you need to make sure you are putting the files into the "public_html" folder of your host home location. To do this you can use File Manager as you did before, log in and click on the public_html folder and then upload using the form below the list of files.
Or if you are using some kind of FTP, then you must set it up to send the files to the public_html folder, normally called the "host directory". The basic settings will be:
FTP Host: ftp.yoursitename.com Host Directory: public_html
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Jim

Hi Jim, I did in my mind, just what you now told me to do, but something is wrong. First I click on this link: www.ipower.com/controlpanelThen File Manager and then "public_html". I have uploaded a file called capture1.html but is seems that is is outside the public_html folder. Could you please try it? username: powerful-home-business password: xxxxxxxxxxxx Removed password, this is a public forum and it's not advisable to publish your logon details hereSorry, I`m stuck with this and I don`t know what I`m doing wrong. Annoying! :-) I`d be grateful if you could take a look and see. Per

Yes, thoughtless of me.
How can I get help now?
By email?
Or perhaps I should change host?
Something is wrong.
Well, well, at least I tried.
Per :-)

Per,
Don't know if this will help, but I discovered you need to check the white box all the way to the right of public_html.
After doing this, at the bottom of the page in the "FileManager Tool Box", it should show the file is to be created in the public_html folder.
Maybe this is what you are looking for.

Hi Per, I've logged in to your ipowerweb control panel, gone to the file manager and copied capture1.html by ticking the check box next to the file and then entering public_html into the form field below the file/folder list with the "Copy" button next to it, then hit the Copy button. This asks you to confirm that you understand it'll over-write a file of the same name, you click to confirm and then a copy appears in the public_html folder. You can now go to www.powerful-home-business.com/capture1.html and see the webpage, so it now sits in public_html and not outside the host directory. Regards, Jim

Dot LOL, just say this post after posting my reply to Per, I automatically ticked the check box because I've been using this type of file manager for years, didn't think that it's actually not obvious, which is bad design on IPower's side. Good to point it out Dot, thanks! Regards, Jim

Per, You do it the same as you did before, under the public_html you create a folder named the same as on your desktop. Log into your account, go to file manager, in the small box to the right of public_html click it, then go to the bottom of the page where it says File Manager Tool Box and create the folder for your images using the same name you used on your desktop. Once that folder is created it should show up under public_html, providing you clicked that little box.
Once you have the folder in your public_html, in order to access that folder you click on public_html, the image folder will be there. Unlike the old file management system, you can only upload one image at a time. Click on the little box to the right of your image folder, go to the bottom where it says "Enter file name to upload:" browse to find the image and upload. I
I hope this helps.

Hi folks,
I`ve been on a short trip to Oslo since last time we talked, and I really appreciate your kind help. I just returned to Trondheim after driving for almost 9 hours, so I`m almost in bed, but tomorrow I`ll try your suggestions! :-)
Thanks again. You are great as always.
Best regards,
Per :-)
