If an IRS Agent calls or contacts you: After writing down their full name and ID... ask them if they are a "Revenue Agent" or a "Special Agent". [The agents are required to identify themselves] Proceed with extreme caution if it's a "Special Agent". They are assigned to suspected fraud cases. Call your lawyer at once.
COMMON TAX RETURN MISTAKES:
Neglecting to calculate and deduct Charitable mileage for you and your spouse for church, school, scouting, and other volunteer activities.

Not claiming deduction charged for investment counselor fees
Overlooking the cost for alarm systems and home safes used to protect investments like art or coin collections.
Not counting newpapers and other publications your use to track or locate investments.
Cost of preparing resumes and letters for prospective employers, including typing, printing, envelopes, and postage.
Transportation costs to and from job interviews.
