Back when I was new and didn't know any better, I got my 123 I Work From Home 4 Me website from the notorious Mufad.
He, being somewhat of a diabolical software genius, used PostNuke software to create it. The site owners (me for example) could change content at any time through the admin function, but he managed any problems. Much if not all could be done WYSIWYG and html was not required. For the dumb and green among us, it was a good deal.
PostNuke is now defunct and there isn't even any more support for it.
Sometime ago, before he disappeared, he turned full control of the sites he once managed over to the people whose sites they were. Everything was managed through the c-panel if you wanted, or you could just keep using the admin function. This is what I did because it worked and I couldn't for the life of me figure any other way to access or change anything. Trust me when I tell you I looked.
A member of my SFI downline who has much more computer knowhow than I'll ever have located a hosting company that could handle the PostNuke software, and at a good price too! I have been there ever since.
PostNuke sites are more and more frequently showing blank - totally blank - pages. ACK! StatCounter shows no page views. Nothing.
The hosting company is in the process of moving me to a server that can still handle the PostNuke, but it is a band-aid at best, and I don't yet know for how long.
Obviously I need to recreate as much as I can using some other software (NVU?) but in all the years I have wandered around that c-panel I cannot for the life of me even locate an index.html file that shows me the html code when I open it up.
Therefore I don't even know where to start to recreate. There is so much in there and files nestled inside folders and much of it I at least recognize the name of but it is massive and I am totally overwhelmed.
I don't even know if it seems so overwhelming because of the PostNuke or because of the c-panel. I don't know what I would have to get rid of and I don't know how to do it.
The one bright spot in all of this is Google did a deep crawl shortly before this all happened and did not come back again before I discovered the problem, so I was able to view cached pages and get the html code from them. That can be a starting point for re-creating the site.
Any suggestions? I feel like quoting Princess Leia. "Help me, Obi-Wan. You're my only hope!"
