What do the power ranks mean?

SFI now has these power ranks that must not run out or one will drop out of their system.
I don't know if they had been there all along and I hadn't noticed them.
I'm not sure what they mean, is a higher figure better than a lower one or does it work the other way round.
I have a total current rank of 1103, country rank of 3 and class rank of 2.
the overall is 4091 which was 4054 yesterday and 4305 the day before.
is that good? or bad?
why do they keep changing? all i've done so far is log in daily and view the reference and referal pages, not the things needed to get power ranks.

There is a link to the SFI discussion board from the SFI website. I'm not sure which page it links from but you should be able to find it in the sitemap. I suggest you post your question there.

I'm not sure either how or why they came up with this... It apparently doesn't earn you any money... so I guess it must be some kind of system to help motivate new affiliates to progress thru the program so they can see their name on the Top 50 list.

I say that because at one time we [here at Tops] dominated the SFI Leaderboards having nearly half of the Top 50 sponsors...

The only reason why you don't see my name so much is because I am offering my affiliates co-op and I don't get any of those leads. I am very active in SFI when it comes to an SFI co-op.

I had to make an edit on my above post because I wasn't looking at this properly. Yes I understand there are probably factors keeping some people who are still active from being displayed.

I have actually stopped my co-op because not much of the people are joining. Now, you will see me more on the leadership board.

The power ranks are worrying me now.

There are some articles on the home page I'd never taken time to read and they have 10 power rank points each.
However, my power rank seemed to reduce with every article I read. I confirmed that today, I logged in with at least 3,900, read 3 articles and ended up with 3,750. So I'm loosing about 100 points per article.

I had been logging in almost daily but not doing any power rank related things but the points were generally increasing.
But now I seem to be reading myself out of the SFI system!

I wanted to post this at the SFI forum but it's failing to load.

Power Rank has nothing to do with Income and the lower your number the higher you are Ranked. For Instance... my PR is 6
