Hi I was reading an article about identity theft. The one piece that caught my eye was- Ensure your source code is not readable when someone visits your website. Not exactly worded like that, but do not have article in front of me. Anyway I went online ,brought up my website, right clicked, clicked on source and my source page came up. I am sure I was told on my Tops instructions or here on this forum in how to block your source.I have read instructions on my Tops manual but cannot find . Can someone please help me? This may be one reason why my sales are down?
Thanks
Sheba

I don't know how to block if they click on "View" and then the Source tab at the top left on your MSN windows page. You can block them from rt clicking on their mouse by adding the following html code to your pages: =============== <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript1.1"> <!-- Begin function right(e) { if (navigator.appName == 'Netscape' && (e.which == 3 || e.which == 2)) return false; else if (navigator.appName == 'Microsoft Internet Explorer' && (event.button == 2 || event.button == 3)) { alert("You do not have permission for this code."); return false; } return true; } document.onmousedown=right; document.onmouseup=right; if (document.layers) window.captureEvents(Event.MOUSEDOWN); if (document.layers) window.captureEvents(Event.MOUSEUP); window.onmousedown=right; window.onmouseup=right; // End --> </script> ================== That will block Internet Explorer... and the old Netscape? I'm not sure how to block other Browsers like Firefox, Google Chrome...etc. I hope this helps.. Erich PS: I don't know how that could affect your sales unless someone has copied your code and used it to get a better position in the search engines that you...

I am unsure where to place this code on your pages in source. Would someone please tell me if you insert this at the end of the page in source or does it matter?

I placed mine under the header code near the top of the page. This isn't as important as it used to be since google and other SE have changed their algorithims... and most browsers have an option to view source on the "Page" menu and this won't block that.
