I can also transfer paypal funds to my bank acct [which has a debit card] Could this be what you refer too?? Erich

I don't believe there is any way to put Paypal funds on a debit card that is not tied to the PayPal account - which would be the PayPal debit card. This only makes sense because a debit card *debits* the account to which it is tied.

You know what sandi I just reread what u said and now I just understood what u said. That if it doesn't have no association from paypal that it's not going to work. So let me get this clear what u guys are saying is if I don't have a bank account or a paypal debit card from the site this is the only way my funds can get transfered from my paypal account. Is this correct?

Is this correct? I believe you have to have a bank account to even get a PayPal account. The only way to get your money out of PayPal is to buy something online and pay for it using PayPal, transfer the money to your bank account, or get the PayPal debit card.

I don't want to make a mistake and do the wrong thing. Hi mar26, I will assume that you are referring to a debit card that you use with your existing bank, and that you want to transfer funds from Paypal so that they are available to you for making debit purchases. If you log into your Paypal account, you have the option in your Profile settings to add a bank account or credit card to your Paypal account. What this does is associate an existing bank or credit card account you may have with Paypal, so that you can transfer funds to it from Paypal or vice versa. Adding your existing bank or credit card account to your Paypal account profile essentially links the two accounts together so that funds can be transferred between them. This only needs to be done once, unless your bank or credit card account info later changes, at which time you will need to edit the info and update it accordingly. Since your debit card is tied to your bank account, you would associate your bank account with Paypal by Adding it to your Paypal account under your Profile settings. Once this is done, you can then transfer money out of Paypal into your bank account, at which time it would be available to your bank account's debit card. You can also transfer funds from your bank account into your Paypal account in the same manner. Note that it may take a few (or several) days to complete the one-time setup and each subsequent transfer process, depending on which bank you use. Hope this helps. Troy

Hi mar26, I don't have a PayPal Debit Card myself so I'm not very familiar with them, but a quick search of the PayPal site reveals that the PayPal Debit Card "gives you instant access to the money you receive in your PayPal account, eliminating the step of having to transfer money from your PayPal account to your bank account." In other words, a bank account is not needed in order to use a PayPal Debit Card, since a PayPal Debit Card draws the money directly out of your PayPal account. This information can be found here: www.paypal.com/row/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=xpt/cps/account/DCIntro-outsidewww.paypal.com/row/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=xpt/Help/popup/LearnMoreDC-outsideThe quote I gave above appears near the top of the second page that I linked to. Erich mentioned as well earlier in this thread that if he were to charge something to his PayPal Debit Card, it takes the money directly from his PayPal balance. The links I provided to the PayPal site confirm this. Troy
