Dumb question for TODAY is:
At the bottom of the main page is a place to list whose birthday it is. When your name shows up, some people chime in to wish you a Happy Birthday. This is good.
Today people are wishing Chris Stirling a Happy Birthday, but his name isn't there! And his birthday isn't listed in his profile!
So how do people know it's his birthday?
Sandi
PS: Happy Birthday, Chris!

The only one I see right now is Alley Shops. I've noticed this on several other occassions too that someone was wished a happy b-day but the name was not at the bottom.

I've noticed this a few times too. Perhaps this information is hidden for some members and only visible to the administrator, moderators, and 3 Phase Managers? That's my guess anyway.

I think it depends on whether you put your age and all in the profile. I elected to leave mine blank, and my birthday came and went without being discovered.
The rich and famous probably are already known from other sources even if they don't type it in here.

I checked Chris' profile and there is nothing in there about birthdays. I thought maybe moderators had access to info that the rest of us don't, but the threads are not always started by moderators. Therefore, Chris must be rich and famous! ;D

I think Sandy that anyone can "Hide" their birthday which means that only admin can see it.

I think Sandy that anyone can "Hide" their birthday which means that only admin can see it. I think you're right. But I believe some of the threads are started by non-moderators, and that is what has me perplexed. Sigh. It really isn't one of life's major problems . . . .

Not sure if this applies to viewing people's birthdays or not, but the 3 Phase Managers also have some limited moderator abilities like the ability to delete posts (spam etc.) I think. I seem to remember reading that on here anyway way back when that particular rank first came into existence. As Sandi said though, it's not of major import, just a curiosity.

I have seen birthdays on the bottom put a post in to wish them a happy birthday and all of a sudden the name disappears.
Does it maybe have to do with time zones?
