Most of the members here just work the TOPS/3PP program and promote the various recommended offers as affiliates, however some members have signed up for some or all of the offers that we promote and made money with them, proving that it can be done and that they are legitimate. Per, you are correct that your bank account is not likely to be flooded with commissions right away, and I'm glad you realize this. I know this is slightly off-topic from your initial question, but I'm going to post this info anyway for the reference of yourself and others who may read this thread to keep in mind...
As Erich and others have mentioned here many times, it does take a lot of time and effort to be profitable with virtually *any* work at home opportunity, and the ones that we promote are no exception. In other words, you will have to put a lot of time and effort into a given opportunity to be profitable or successful with it, just like with virtually anything else in life that is worthwhile.
If you do this with the offers that we promote, you will be spending a lot of time away from your TOPS/3PP site, which also requires a similar amount of time and effort to ensure success. There is of course absolutely nothing wrong with trying the various recommended opps yourself, but unless you have a LOT of time on your hands, you may be spreading yourself too thin and sacrificing the profitability of your TOPS/3PP business in the process.
Most of us have families, day jobs, and other responsibilities that tie up a lot of our time, and we simply don't have the extra time available to seriously work other programs as well in addition to TOPS/3PP, such as the ones that we promote as affiliates. Everyone's situation is different though, and there may be a few individuals here that have enough time available to consistently work multiple programs. Most of us don't however.
Unless you are already doing everything you can to update, tweak, and promote your TOPS/3PP web site, it is generally best to focus on promoting just your TOPS/3PP site rather than attempting to spread your available time among multiple programs, but this is up to you and the amount of time that you have available.
Keep in mind of course that any legitimate business will start off slowly and not bring in large profits overnight, it will take several weeks or months of consistent effort as mentioned above before you really start to receive results. That's why patience and persistence are so important.
Erich has stated this in the past, and he also said that he worked 4+ hours each and every day for 9 whole months before receiving his first commission check, and it was less than $10 (reference is
here). And look where he's at today, ten years or so later. Now that's patience and persistence, and is why he is so successful.
I've seen so many people post that they aren't making a profit after only a matter of a few days or a few weeks of advertising...while a few people do get lucky at first, it is very unrealistic to expect this.
What one has to keep in mind is that there are a LOT of variables to tweak for one's site reach consistent profitability such as the offers presented, their placements, titles and ad copy of offers on one's site, the placement of their free and paid web site ads and their ad copy, the numbers and sources of visitors to their web site, etc.
It takes much time, testing, tracking, tweaking, and above all...patience...to become profitable on a consistent basis.
