Hello all. I'm happy to report that I got my first EA , but she has a couple questions that I need help on. I will list her question below. Now how do I add personal things to my free website such as articles I've written? Also, if I get that free website do I need to buy the VeryVIP one as well?I'm a little confused on what to tell her, because I should not tell her about my work at home website, correct? (Because that would be cross soliciting?) I should only be helping her along just with SFI? Or do I tell her to just try and promote her free website, etc? Any help would be appreciated. Shelly

Hi Shelly,
Congrats on your first EA!
The free gateway sites that SFI provides affiliates can't be modified, you are just given referral links to various landing pages on SFI's sites. Only SFI has control over the pages on its web sites, just like we're the ones in control of our own web sites.
If your affiliate has a web site of her own then she could certainly post her articles there and promote SFI on her own site. If she doesn't have a web site then I see nothing wrong with telling her a bit about TOPS and the 3 Phase Profits program as the method you are using to promote SFI, and that those in the TOPS 3PP program have their own web sites that they can post articles or whatever else they wish on in addition to SFI and other required programs.
She did ask you about customizing a site after all that is promoting SFI...you can only really do this if you have your own site that you are in control of. And SFI is one of the cornerstones of the TOPS/3PP program. There is nothing wrong with telling her what methods or resources you are using to promote your SFI business, and TOPS/3PP falls into this category.
I believe that cross-solicitation would be more like trying to entice an affiliate into another completely separate program you are involved in, such as Empowerism or Better Universe for example, that has absolutely nothing to do with SFI.
SFI is a necessary component of TOPS/3PP so the two are most certainly related in this case. You are using TOPS/3PP to promote your SFI business, and if it weren't for TOPS/3PP you probably wouldn't have this affiliate to begin with, unless you successfully promote SFI through other means. Many people here are simply promoting their own (3PP) web sites and receiving most if not all of their SFI affiliates in this manner.
I don't know a great deal about VeryVIP but I believe it is basically some sort of web hosting promoted by SFI...she will get a good, reliable web host for a rock-bottom price via iPowerweb if she signs up with TOPS and chooses to pursue the optional but highly recommended 3 Phase Profits training.
That's my take on your questions. Hope this helps.

Shelly Shelly I don't worry about cross soliciting when they email me. That is something you can't do with Contact manager. Tell her she can upgrade with VeryVip and get her own website or join Tops and get one. She can't make changes on her sfi website Erich PS: I didn't see Troys response which is also good advice

I didn't see Erich's post until now either as I was posting and editing my own reply...I guess we were posting at the same time. I guess it was the usual 3PP forum syndrome at work Receiving two replies at once is not unusual here. Troy

Thanks Troy and Erich. I was just worried about the cross solicitation.....so according to your advice it would be in MY best interest to promote TOPS ;D ;D ;D

Here is another question ...if I refer her to Tops do I refer her to Erich's site or my own? I thought I remembered reading somewhere that in order for them to enter Phase 3 under me we need approval from Erich, and that they have to be a leaders club member and sign up under Erich for all the affiliate sites?? I think I'm confusing myself Thanks, Shelly

Hi Shelly,
You will refer her to your site. Then as she joins TOPS, whether a free or paid member, she will get the info she needs to move forward from there. The TOPS site is filled with excellent information in every stage, whether free, premium, or elite. Help her to take advantage of the tools available to her there. Make sure she understands that you are available for her and encourage her to become active in the forum. Let her know she won't be left alone to figure things out. I hope she takes your suggestion. TOPS is an excellent way to market SFI.

Hi Shelly, I believe the information you are referring to is posted in the bottom half of the forum rules here: erichw33.proboards53.com/index.cgi?board=rules&action=display&thread=1139922068I am specifically referring to the section entitled "3 Phase Profits Plan" 2nd level Referrals. Note that this refers to 3PP 2nd level referrals and not TOPS specifically. At least some of the information in this section predates TOPS I think, when 3 Phase Profits was basically its own program and not an option for TOPS. As such, I don't see anything wrong with giving her your TOPS referral link, but perhaps this is a question that is best answered by Erich. Did you try to PM or email him directly, or just post here? Either way, I'm sure he'll see this and respond to you one way or another soon (probably in the morning). Edit: I just noticed Shawna's post and I concur...she has given you some good advice to follow regarding this.Erich, While on that section of the rules, I also noticed that some of the information seems to be out of date. It mentions emailing the 3 phase instructions to 2nd tier referrals and so forth, and I know that the phase 1, 2, and 3 instructions are posted online inside the TOPS members site now and no longer emailed. In fact, referring people to 3PP directly isn't done anymore since we just refer people to TOPS and it is later up to them whether they choose to request the additional 3 Phase training or just promote their basic TOPS site. The various affiliate links that 2nd tier referrals would sign up under would depend on the referrer's TOPS membership level, i.e. whether he/she is an Elite member or not, etc. Since things are so much different now than when this 3PP 2nd tier info was posted, I can see how it would be confusing for people. Perhaps this would be a good opportunity to update the information posted in the forum rules regarding 2nd tier referrals and so forth, if this section is even needed at all now. Troy

Thanks guys for your help. I did PM Erich to get more clarification as some of the threads that I was reading did seem to get a little confusing. He did advise me that there was nothing wrong with giving my Tops link.
Thanks again Shawna, Troy and Erich.
