Hi David,
I've never been a real big fan of the reassignment tool, because I feel it tempts people to give away "stale'" affiliates as an incentive. You can provide a much better incentive using a co-op to provide "fresh" affiliates.
Nothing worse than expecting a lobster dinner and being served a bologna sandwich.
It may generate a few upgrades short-term, but long-term it might backfire.
That being said, I have found the reassignment tool useful for other things.
For example:
I'm NOT a phone person, but have an affiliate who enjoys making the calls... so when I get a request for a call, I reassign them to my affiliate. He gets a highly qualified lead and I get to keep my mouth shut (just the way I like it).
I will also sometimes reassign an EA to someone who I KNOW is working and commited to help them reach BTL or retain it if they have a setback.
If I get an active affiliate from a country, i'll reassign some from the same country or similar interests.
And while i'm against reassigning old/unresponsive affiliates as an incentive, there are people who will respond more to a challenge than a gift... older leads can offered as a "I couldn't do anything with them, you want to try?" type of deal.
I'm also not opposed to reassigning one annoying affiliate to another annoying affiliate. ;D
You could also reassign affiliates as they come in and are still fresh, but the co-op is a better alternative to do this. Since an affiliate can only be reassigned once, one coming in through the co-op would still leave the reassignment option open to the recieving affiliate.
