Support a good cause! Please watch - its very powerful and meaningful. The band, Five for Fighting, is generously donating $0.40 to Autism Speaks for *each time*the video is viewed the funding goes toward research studies to help find a cure. When you have a moment, please visit the link below to watch the video. They are aiming for 10,000 hits, but hopefully we can help them to surpass this goal. www.whatkindofworlddoyouwant.com/videos/view/id/408214My son is Autistic and is just like the little girl in this video. He will be 3 next week and cannot speak or convey any of his needs to me. I wait for the day that he will call me mommy and tell me he loves me. Thank you for clicking. Cindi

Cindy,
My cousin who is now in his fifties is Autistic. When he was in his twenties his parents learned of a program that taught him how to sign and he learned a trade. At this program he learned to draw and paint, he is able to express himself in art. He has learned a trade that fits him. He likes a lot of repetition so he assembles boxes and other items. I will pass the link on to my Aunt and Uncle

Hi Cindi,
Powerful video. It was my pleasure to watch and do what I can. I have forwarded the link to my family and friends in hopes that it may help.
Wish your son a very happy birthday and I will pray for a cure.

My first awareness of autism came from watching the made for TV movie mentioned on this page. It is the story of parents who did not take "there is no hope for your child" as an answer. It has been so long since I saw it that I don't remember much except the incredible amount of work and dedication the parents put into their child, and the success that was the result.
{{{hugs}}} and prayers for your son.

Cindi, wow that is a powerful video. I have a friend that has a 5 year old son that is autistic. I will send her this link and if it is ok, I would love you give you her blog address, where you can read what she is doing as far as treatment, if you would like. My prayers are with you and your son, and a cure is something we will never give up on!

;DI have been thinking a lot about the little girl in the video and I thought how hard would it be for us to put a small link to this video somewhere on our pages.
As a group we could help in finding a cure and giving these families hope.
Just a thought

Nancy,
Thank you! My family appreciates this and so will other families with Autistic kids.
I just went to the website and they have had 1,896,126 views. That means they have raised $758,450 for Autism!!!!!! That brought me to tears.

Cindi Wonderful video. Made this old man You and your family are in my prayers. I am putting video link on my site also and will send it to everyone I know. I understand how difficult it is to deal with something there is no cure for. I am just 46 and am being treated for Alzheimers and Parkinsons disease. If there is anything else I can do to support your cause I will gladly help. Best wishes Michael J

Michael.
That is very kind of you. It is hard (at least for me) to watch kids suffer in any way, shape or form. I am lucky in that I have insurance that covers my son and I live in a small state so he is only on one waiting list for services (thank goodness). There are kids like the girl in the video who have a slim chance of having a normal life because of the wait for medical help.
As you can see, this is a wonderful forum where we can get the help of others, not only in business, but in our personal lives. If you ever need anything from us, we are here to help you also. Just remember that.
Thanks for sharing something so personal about yourself and helping Autism.

Hello Cindi,
I know many of us have been deeply touched by autism. I have some very close friends whose 14 year old son is autistic. They work with him all the time. But it's so difficult to watch the struggles they have. He's such a sweet boy. But so distant. I'm so sorry to hear about your son. I believe Jeff on this forum, also has a son with autism if my memory serves me right.
I used to wish that Jesus was on the Earth again and could hold our little friend in his arms and lift the disease from him. I know if that would happen, the first words from our little friend's mouth would be to express the love he has for his mother and father. But then, I believe He will someday. In the meantime, I believe there will be a special place in Heaven for those that nurture and care for autistic children and other children and people with special needs.
Take care, Shawna
