Generally speaking email without attachments cannot communicate a virus to your computer, but those with attachments can! ALWAYS delete email with attachments that come from unknown sources.... or that you did not specifically request.
Some attachment viruses can be emailed to you from those whom you know and are on your approved list... without their knowledge. Therefore, it's always best to never open an email attachment unless you know in advance it is coming or what it is....

Usually when you get email attachments from someone you don't know, it is better not to open the attachment itself.
This may be some sort of a virus that can affect your computer.
If the email provider warns you not to open an email, then don't.
