Hi Everyone, I am in the process of re-doing my site. I don't know how I did it but I messed up the 3 ads table. I have been sitting here for hours trying to fix it. If anyone has some free time and could help me out, I would greatly appreciate it. You can see it here: www.myebizplace.com/newindex.htmlThank you, Lori P.S. I am using NVU if that help's any.

;DLori, I just stopped by, it should be able to be put back right through the table properties tab in nvu.
I did notice in your code, your cells are defined at 33% of table, but then from what I can tell, you table is also 33%. That doesn't seem right. Your table should be defined at 100% of table.
I had this same problem on one of my pages a few months back and I just went in and changed the values in the table properties and it fixed the problem.

Hi Lori,
I tried to figure how to fix the problem but I can't seem to.
I think that you should leave your site as it is. It looks really good.

Lori, You may have already tried this, but have you put your cursor in each box, ie fire your boss.....then click on table (menu at top of nvu) ..click on properties...then cell... Do the same for Great for moms etc.. I will bet that you have different numbers in for each of the cells. I would put the table at 33 % if you want each of them to be equal. I hope this helps, Mike C Hi Everyone, I am in the process of re-doing my site. I don't know how I did it but I messed up the 3 ads table. I have been sitting here for hours trying to fix it. Thanks everyone.
Mike I tried what you mentioned and I still have the same problem.
Nancy, where are you seeing the table at 33%? Do you think that may be the problem.
Thank you for the compliment Tal, but I felt the site had become over-crowded so I wanted to start from scratch.
I was working in the source code trying to "clean it up some" and I must have erased something I shouldn't have. Now i can't get the table back to normal.
If I have to start all over again.......well, I think I'll just shoot myself!

OK, I just looked at my source again and found where I was working. It was around line 1086. If anyone could look around there and see what it is that I might have deleted, maybe I could just put it back and that would fix the problem.
Thanks again to everyone.

Hi Lori,
Your right column of your 3 ads in a row table is very wide compared to your other two columns, so I suspected that the problem may be with the contents in one of the cells in that column. Your second large box from the bottom, under the title "Internet Work", has some garbled code, as there is some source code displaying on your page in my laptop's IE 6 in that cell. You can correct the issue by finding this code for that table cell:
style="font-weight: bold; font-family: Verdana;" href="http://time4lori.legitonl.hop.clickbank.net/" target="_blank">More Info</small></span></big></big></small></small></td>
and replacing it with this code:
<a style="font-weight: bold; font-family: Verdana;" href="http://time4lori.legitonl.hop.clickbank.net/" target="_blank">More Info</a> </small></span></big></big></small></small></td>
As was mentioned earlier in this thread, you might also want to consider changing the width of the entire 3 ads in a row table from 33% to some more specific value. For example, the basic TOPS site's 3 ads table is 468px wide. Or, you could set the table width at 100% so that it uses up 100% of the area it is contained in. The 33% width value for the top three cells in that table is fine though.
Hope this helps.
Troy
Edit: I started this an hour or hour and a half ago...hopefully your code hasn't changed in the area that I quoted since then. We had company at the house so I got sidetracked for a bit before getting this posted.
Also, after posting I noticed that the code in the first quote above doesn't actually match your source code character for character. Your source code has some % quote and % gt (without spaces) that the forum is automatically converting to a single character, despite my using the forum's code box tag. Those are what are causing your issues, plus I may have added a couple of characters as well.

Sorry I didn't get back sooner, this is where I saw it:

Troy,
I did as you said and now the columns are more equal, but the table seems to have shrunk.
Nancy, I will take a look at the code you mentioned and see if that has anything to do with my problem. Will have to wait until morning though. I'm getting "bug eyed".
Thank you both for your help.

Nancy, OK, I couldn't wait until morning (I knew I would lay awake in bed thinking about this). I changed the 33% to 100% where you mentioned and it work! It is all back to normal. Thank you again Troy, Nancy, Mike and Tal! You are the BEST! Lori

You're welcome Lori, I'm glad you were able to fix the problem. I mentioned the table width above as well, perhaps I should have been more specific as to the location in your source code as Nancy was. I kind of posted in a hurry.
Your 3 ads in a row table now looks okay in both IE 6 and Firefox. I happened to try your bookmark button and it works fine in IE, but it does not function in Firefox. This is due to the bookmark code you used inside your <head> section to define your addfavorites() function.
You may be fine with the bookmark only working in IE, but if you want it to work in Firefox as well then see the thread regarding bookmarks in the Website Creation Tool Kit FAQ board, or the code in your basic TOPS site's <head> section.
In a nutshell, you could just copy the bookmark code out of your basic TOPS site and replace your current code with it if you wish to include Firefox bookmark functionality as well. The section of code I'm referring to in your page is as follows:
<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"> <!-- function addfavorites() {window.external.addfavorite('http://www.myebizplace.com', 'Work At Home Directory');} //--> </script> Basically, everything between the opening <script> and closing </script> tags is your bookmark script. Here is the bookmark code from the basic TOPS site that supports Firefox as well:
<Script Language = "JavaScript" Type="Text/JavaScript"> <!-- var urlAddress = this.location; var pageName = document.title; function addToFavorites() { if ((navigator.appName == "Microsoft Internet Explorer") && (parseInt(navigator.appVersion) >= 4)) { window.external.AddFavorite(urlAddress,pageName); } else if (navigator.appName == "Netscape") { window.sidebar.addPanel(pageName,urlAddress,""); } else { alert("Please press CTRL-D(Netscape) or CTRL-T(Opera) to Bookmark this site!"); } } // --> </script> The only thing you'd have to change in the above is the function name. Your script definition (above) has to match the name of the script that your bookmark button is calling. You'd either have to change AddToFavorites() above to addfavorites(), or else find the code for your "Bookmark This Site" button on your page and change it from addfavorites() to AddToFavorites() so that it is the same in both places.

Troy,
I am going to attempt to fix my bookmark. I just want to go over it with you before I start to dig into my source code. Now, I found the first set of code you referred to
<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"> <!-- function addfavorites() {window.external.addfavorite('http://www.myebizplace.com', 'Work At Home Directory');} //--> </script>
Do I delete that and replace it with the second code you gave me? I just want to make sure.
Thank you, Lori

Hi Lori,
Yes, that should do the trick. Replace the first section of <script>....</script> code with the second section quoted above. That comes directly out of the basic TOPS site, and that bookmark code will work for both IE and Firefox. You don't need to change anything in it other than what I indicated above. The script automatically "knows" your URL and page title, so you don't need to edit those into the script unless you want the bookmark to say something else.
Naturally you'll want your site to work on as many browers as possible, as not everyone uses the same browser. I know Firefox is a very popular browser, so it certainly wouldn't hurt to have that browser supported as much as possible, including for the bookmark code.
